XXIV Sunday in Ordinary Time/B.
The way of the cross of Christ is also that of the Christian.
In the Gospel story, Peter first recognizes Jesus as the Christ; then, faced with the prospect of the Passion, he wants to dissuade the Master from continuing and for this he receives a harsh rebuke because with those thoughts he does not follow the “logic” of God.
The disciple, on the other hand, imitates Jesus: he follows him on the cross, unites faith and works, gives himself.
Let us entrust all the faithful to the protection of the Archangel and together let us pray that the Spirit helps us understand that the condition for saving our life is to lose it for the love of Jesus.
