As part of the functions that will mark the Holy Year at the Sanctuary of San Michele on February 20, the State Police celebrated its Jubilee: a propitious occasion to fully experience the grace of this time and, at the same time, to entrust its mission and service to the Angelic Patron.
The Prefect, Paolo Giovanni Grieco, the Police Chief, Alfredo D’Agostino, various managers and numerous agents of the Province of Foggia were welcomed in the Atrium of the Basilica by the Deputy Mayor, Rosa Palomba, the Archbishop of Siponto, Mons. Franco Moscone, and the rector of the Sanctuary, p. Ladislao Suchy, as well as by a large representation of students: the event, in fact, also wanted to underline the importance of the theme of legality and the commitment to respecting civil rules.
After the so-called “liturgy of the threshold”, all the participants went to the Sacred Grotto where the solemn Eucharist took place.
During the offertory, together with the gifts of bread and wine, the coat of arms and the policeman’s hat were brought, that is, the elements that symbolize the activity and sacrifice of those who have decided to devote their lives in the fight against evil and for the protection of the common good.
